Little Ant Insurance Sponsoring A Charity Golf Day: Swinging in the Rain!
When you picture a charity golf day, you probably think of blue skies, warm sunshine, and perfectly manicured greens, right? Well, at this year’s charity golf event, Little Ant Insurance had the pleasure (and the challenge) of sponsoring one of the holes... on what turned out to be the wettest day of the year.
Yep, you read that right. The heavens didn’t just open; they poured. But hey, what’s a bit of rain when you’re raising money for a good cause? Spoiler: A LOT of rain. It didn’t stop our spirits, though. In true British fashion, we grabbed our waterproofs, plastered on some smiles, and carried on swinging like champs.
Hole 10: The Little Ant Rainforest Experience
Little Ant Insurance was proud to sponsor Hole 10—although, on the day, it was more like the Little Ant Rainforestexperience. It was soggy, it was slippery, and we lost count of the number of golf balls that vanished into puddles. But do you know what? It was absolutely brilliant.
The players incuding our director Gareth and from BIG ANT Healthcare Andy, bless them, soldiered on, sloshing through ankle-deep water, attempting to keep their swings straight despite the rain pelting sideways at times. Watching some golfers try to shield themselves with their golf bags while still attempting to line up a perfect shot? Comedy gold.
Why We Do It
All jokes aside, the day wasn’t about perfect weather or pristine conditions. It was about something much more important—raising money for an incredible cause. Despite the rain, the event was a huge success, and we’re chuffed to have been part of it.
The charity we were supporting does fantastic work in our community, and knowing that we were able to make a positive difference made every waterlogged step worth it. Plus,Rain Can’t Wash Away the Fun
What started as a rather soggy affair ended with laughter, good-natured ribbing, and, most importantly, a sense of achievement. The drenched players showed grit and determination, proving that not even the weather can stand in the way of a good cause (or a good round of golf, even if that round was more akin to a swim!).
We may not have had sunshine, but the warmth and camaraderie on that course made up for it. Little Ant Insurance is all about supporting our community, rain or shine—and if that means getting a little wet in the process, bring it on!
So, here’s to the unsung heroes of the day: the brave golfers, and the dedicated organisers, who cheered through the drizzle. We’ll remember this one for years to come—if only because we’re still drying out our shoes!
Let’s hope for a slightly drier day next year, but hey, if not, we’ll be ready with our raincoats and smiles.
