Warehouse Stock Controller
Location: Totnes based
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site.
Hours: 0900-1700 but some flexibility to suit the successful candidate
Our customer operates a well established and popular brand, and is seeking an experienced and highly organised Warehouse Stock Controller to oversee inventory management and distribution across their UK warehouse and international distribution centres. This role is integral to ensuring efficient stock control, timely deliveries and seamless warehouse operations. Although this is a hands-on role, you'll also need to be able to forecast and plan in order to manage an efficient warehouse facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock Management: Monitor and manage stock levels to maintain optimal inventory, preventing overstocking and stock shortages.
- Replenishment & Forecasting: Process stock replenishment orders based on current stock levels, projected sales, and supplier lead times.
- Production Coordination: Track and manage production schedules to ensure purchase orders are delivered on time.
- Logistics & Distribution: Oversee courier partnerships, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely order dispatch.
- Stock Recording & Reporting: Maintain accurate stock records and produce monthly inventory reports, highlighting any discrepancies, delays, or quality issues.
- Supplier & Customs Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and distribution centres, managing customs and entry documentation when required.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any stock or delivery-related issues efficiently.
- Process Improvement: Work closely with internal departments to enhance warehouse operations and drive efficiency.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with warehouse stock management systems (knowledge of Sage 200 is advantageous).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate detailed management reports.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities to ensure seamless stock control.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
- Problem-solving capabilities to identify and resolve stock and logistics issues effectively.
- Previous experience in warehouse stock control or a related field is highly desirable.
- Forklift driving licence
