Parking Officer (Industrial)

BIG ANT Group are supporting Torbay Council with a seasonal position in the Parking Services team.

We are looking for someone who is keen to be an ambassador for the local council and fairly enforce the regulations in the local area.

You will be required to carryout the following duties:
- Monitor all Council off street car parks and on street parking areas within the context of the Civil Parking Enforcement system
- Ensure parking equipment is working within normal parameters including pay on exit equipment
- Issue penalty charge notices when required
- Assist event organisers to implement road closures and ensure car parks are closed for required event activity
- Inspect potentially abandoned vehicles
- Check and maintain all signage

It will be essential for applicants to have good customer service and communication skills as you will potentially be conversing with members of the public in person and across car-park intercoms.

You will be required to fulfil some physical duties such as moving signage and bollards and laying out cones.

You will be provided with full uniform and equipment to carryout your duties, with the use of hand-held machinery to issue Penalty Charge Notice's.

Applicants must drive and we are looking for someone who is flexible to work across 7-days a week, with availability to work every other weekend. The working hours will be 07:00-15:00 or 09:00-17:30. Should you be scheduled to working a weekend, you will be given a day off during the week.
